If you’re looking for a new home town, what do really want? Road trippers typically want a place they can use as a home base for trips near and far.
Personally, if I was in the market for a new place to live, there are several criteria that are important to me. You may have different needs. But in a nutshell, here’s what I like:
Small town atmosphere. I tried living in a metropolitan area, and it’s not for me. Small towns are my preference. Say, under 30,000 population.

Ichetucknee River State Park is a linear park that was created to protect a gorgeous stream in northern Florida that bursts from the ground and flows gently through miles of woods toward the Gulf of Mexico.
Much of Eastern Wyoming is flat. Great Plains flat. There are a few scattered mountains. But one rock peak stands out, sorta like a giant thumb.
The road offers amazing scenes. Just keep your eyes open as you travel.
Highways are great for getting places. But once you’re there, leave the highways behind and explore backroads, towns, trails, and the backcountry.
